Overview
Lumino Labs LLC (“Lumino Labs,” “we,” “us”) designs educational tools for children, including the Liago Read Along app. We care deeply about children’s privacy and build every product to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple’s Kids Category guidelines. This policy explains, in plain language, how our apps handle information. It applies to all apps and tools made by Lumino Labs.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information from you or your child. Our apps have no user accounts, no login, and no server that receives your information.
To personalize the experience, an app may let you enter a child’s first name and age. This information is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us, to Apple, or to anyone else. We never see it, and it is not part of any database. You can erase it at any time using the in-app reset option (such as “Sign Out”).
How Our Apps Work Offline
Our apps are designed to run on your device. Content such as books, illustrations, and narration is included inside the app and plays directly from your device. Our apps do not load this content from the internet, so they make no requests to outside services and transmit no device information (such as an IP address) for that purpose.
No Advertising
Lumino Labs apps contain no advertisements of any kind. We do not use behavioral advertising, contextual advertising, or any advertising networks.
No Analytics or Tracking
Our apps use no analytics tools, no third-party software development kits (SDKs) for tracking, and no persistent identifiers to follow users over time or across apps.
Subscriptions
Some apps offer an optional premium subscription that unlocks additional content. All subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details, name, or Apple ID. Apple’s handling of that transaction is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
No Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, rent, or transfer any data to third parties. Because we do not collect information in the first place, there is no user data for us to share.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
Our apps are designed for children and comply with COPPA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly address it.
Parental Rights
Parents and guardians are always in control. You may contact us at any time to:
- Ask what data, if any, our apps handle
- Request deletion of any on-device information (you can also do this instantly with the in-app reset option)
- Ask any question about how our apps protect your child’s privacy
We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our products evolve. Meaningful changes will be reflected on this page and noted in the relevant App Store update notes.
